The signing of this order marks Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding’s official entry into the methanol dual-fuel powered ship market. This ship model is also expected to become another batch container ship model of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding after the 7000TEU medium-sized container ship.

This type of ship was developed and designed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation 708. It is the latest generation of green, environmentally friendly, efficient and energy-saving medium-sized container ships that adapts to and meets the current new requirements for green environmental protection and new needs of the shipping market. It has completely independent intellectual property rights. This type of ship has a total length of 299.9 meters, a width of 45.6 meters, and a container capacity of 9200TEU. It is classified by Bureau Veritas (BV). It uses methanol as the main fuel, which reduces the emission of various pollutants from the fuel source and meets the ship's energy efficiency.
